Montelier Group
The filter, reconsidered.
No. 01 — Coming Soon
Montelier is a study in restraint — engineered filtration wrapped in an object worth holding. Precision-milled, quietly luxurious, made to be noticed only by the hand that holds it.

Philosophy
We started with a question nobody in this category bothers to ask: what if the most disposable object in your day was designed like it mattered?
Every material, every dimension, every gram of resistance was reconsidered from first principles — not for novelty, but for the quiet satisfaction of something made properly. Montelier is not a lifestyle. It is a standard.
Process
From raw acetate tow to a finished, cut-to-length filter rod — controlled at every pass.
The acetate tow bale is opened and drawn through the AF line — pre-tensioned, stretched, then relaxed across a series of rollers to bloom the filaments evenly, before triacetin plasticizer is applied to bond and firm the fibre.
The conditioned tow is wrapped in plugwrap paper on the KDF line and sealed into one continuous rod — a hot-melt seam glue closes the wrap while an inner PVA track anchors the tow so it holds its place throughout.
The endless rod runs through continuous diameter control, then is cut to length and transferred on — every rod measured against target circumference, pressure drop, and weight before it moves downstream.
Design
A layered matrix engineered for consistent draw, batch after batch.
Sourced and processed with a lighter footprint, without compromise on structure.
A tactile surface that resists staining and wears in, not out.
Choose a finish
Ivory — the original.
Early Access Notes
"The best objects disappear into the ritual. Montelier is what's left when you strip everything else away."
— Founding Design Note
"Heavier than I expected, in a good way. It doesn't feel like something you're supposed to throw away."
— No. 014, Early Access
"We spent more time on the cap than most people spend on a whole product. That's the point."

Questions
The details behind the object — how our filter rods are built, ordered, and made your own. Anything we haven't covered, just reach out.
A filter rod is the filtration segment at the mouth end of a cigarette. It governs the draw, holds back particulates, and shapes the experience with every pull. Cut to length, each rod becomes an individual filter seated in the finished product.
Our range runs from conventional cellulose-acetate rods to dual- and multi-stage builds, plus specialty formats such as recessed, charcoal, and capsule variants. Each is engineered to a defined draw resistance rather than a one-size specification.
We produce across the full range used in the industry — slim and super-slim through king-size. Length, circumference, and pressure drop are each set to your requirement, not fixed to a house standard.
Send us your specification and target volume through the contact form or our sales team. We'll confirm feasibility, pricing, and timeline, then issue a proforma to begin production.
Yes, and it varies by rod type and specification — standard formats carry a lower threshold than bespoke builds. Tell us the volume you have in mind and we'll confirm the minimum that applies.
Of course. Representative samples of our standard formats are available for evaluation, and for custom projects we'll prepare specification-matched samples for you to assess before committing to a full run.
Lead time depends on the rod type, order size, and whether the build is standard or bespoke. Stock formats move fastest; custom specifications allow for tooling and validation, all confirmed at the point of order.
Customization is at the core of what we do. Draw resistance, dimensions, filtration media, and finish can all be tailored to your brief, with samples signed off before production begins.
Our rods are produced in our own facility under controlled quality standards, with every batch checked for consistency before it leaves us.
